The Lillehei Heart Institute is a multidisciplinary institute which supports research facilities throughout the Academic Health Center. Its offices are mainly located in Nils Hasselmo Hall and the Variety Club Cardiovascular Research Center.
Cancer & Cardiovascular Research Building (CCRB)
Labs and Administrative Offices
The 60,000 square foot research facility is part of the University of Minnesota's new Biomedical Discovery District. The building became operational in the summer of 2013 and houses leading-edge laboratories and administrative offices.
The entrance to CCRB is on the North side of 6th Street just West of the intersection with 23rd Avenue. LHI's offices are on the 4th floor. The building is secure, so visitor's without an access card must register at the front desk.
Cardiovascular Clinical Trials Center (CTC)
The Cardiovascular Clinical Trials Center (CTC) associated with LHI is located in Variety Club Research Center (VCRC) at 401 E. River Road. To contact the CTC, call (612) 626-6966.
The entrance to VCRC (for the Cardiovascular Clinical Trials Center) is just 1/4 block East of the ramp on the North side of River Road. The sign reads "Variety Club Heart & Research Center." There is a U pull-in by the door where patients may be dropped off.
Dwan Variety Club CV Research Center (DVCCRC) - labs and CV Surgery Offices
The entrance to Dwan VCCRC building) is also on the left (North) side of River Road, just East of VCRC. The sign reads "Cancer Center Research Building/Dwan Variety Club Cardiovascular Research Center." There is a set of steps on the left, the entrance is at the top of the steps. A ramp to the entrance can be found from the loading dock just 1/4 block further up River Road. The conference rooms are on the first floor.
